Description
"Forest Totems" are highly manipulated images of trees taken in a deep forest. I look for particular shapes and lighting to "mirror," and highlight patterns and textures that I find intriguing. It's a very hit or miss process, with most missing by a mile.This one came quite naturally, with faces and patterns popping out almost immediately. I dodge, burn, blur, highlight and warp the image to produce this kind of result. I have the image in color as well, but I felt that the monochrome version has more impact.
