This is stunning. I had no idea Hawaii's volcanos were this high. I have done a lot of hiking and scrambling at high altitudes in Colorado. Can't believe I never knew this about Hawaii.

Thank you Jim. Yes, our volcanoes are amazingly high on this Island. Hiking is strenuous, especially since most of it is on a very steep grade, but so very worth it! Aloha

Truly hard to believe this is Hawaii when you look at it. However, I have been to the top of Haleakala where where is snow and it really does become an whole new world. What a remarkable bit of weather happening all in one place. This is just stunning. L/F Featured in Hawaiiana. Aloha nui!
