Feist is a Canadian singer, song writer originally from Amherst, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Feist (whose birth name is Leslie Feist) was born on 1976-Februray-13 in Amherst Nova Scotia, to an American/Canadian father and a Canadian mother, meaning that she is a dual Canadian/American citizen. Her father is an abstract impressionist painter who taught at both the Alberta College of Art and Design and Mount Allison University. Her mother is a ceramics artist. Feist performs as a solo singer and also as a member of the Indie rock group, Broken Social Scene. She has been nominated for 4-Grammy awards and has won 11-Juno awards. As well as being a soprano, she plays guitar, piano, banjo, and drums.
