Today was beautiful day with above average temps moderated with blue skies punctuated with puffy white clouds and enough autumn color lingering on the trees to remind us t it was early December and not a warm beautiful day in mid-June. Therefore, it was even more reason to grab the camera and venture outside to capture a few images of the sunset at Hilton Pier by the James River.
When I arrived at the pier, many children from the after-school program were running and romping on the playground. My ears took in the carefree sound of youth; good spirited times and kids enjoying the outdoors. As I made my way to the pier with my camera and tripod in hand, my swift responses permitted me to dodge a football; thrown from the hands of a future star quarterback which seemed to be destined for the side of my head. I bobbed and scurried along to avoid what would have been a definite ouch punch to my noggin when one of the adults told the kid with the golden arm to hold the throw so I could pass. I raised my hand to signal a thank you and arrived at the river just as the sun sank below the horizon.
