Description
Starlings were brought to America in the 1890s and they quickly made it their own. They were introduced into Central Park in New York by people that wanted all the birds mentioned by Shakespeare to be in our country, too.

Except for the wildest or driest of locales, starling are fairly common. They travel in large flocks except during breeding season, and they are good mimics of other birds. They are lovely with all the iridescence on their feathers, and starling capes are prized by fishermen who tie flies.
Starlings eat almost anything but especially like insects, fruits, berries, and seeds. I've had one come to suet which is strange in my experience.
The male chooses a nice cavity and begins to build a nest. A female will accept the nest site and finish making the nest. Both parents incubate the eggs and feed the young.
They are often thought of as a pest (and remember they are an introduced species), and will take over bird feeders en masse. It is also thought they may compete with other birds for nesting sites.

An amazing capture! You know, I love all creatures, and we have many bird feeders up, so I agree with you completely when you say they are a pest!! They come in large numbers and chase all the little ones away, including the suet!! Help!! lol
