Drawing - Charcoal And Compressed Charcoal On Paper And Digital
Description
This is the second drawing in the 'emergent' series - which are showing an awakening, stimulation, inspiration, birth, revival, and a sense of impending, something is about to happen. Here made into a textured version which is a scan of the drawing, overlaid with a scan of homemade paper and layer filters used to modify the colour and densities.
The original drawing is done with charcoal and compressed charcoal onto 420 x 594mm Daler Rowney 200g/m2 Fine Grain HeavyWeight paper. The background texture is a scan of homemade paper stained with inks and watercolour, and started off as being predominantly green.

Hell yeah... this turned out great Paul.
Paul Davenport replied:
Thank you John... its interesting how these colour versions develop... I rather like that the figure is not immediately as apparent... but rather frustrated that I can't figure a way to physically produce these! - the handmade paper (whilst rather pretty), is useless as paper as I can't draw on it :-)

Wow ...It's a bit frightening, but also mesmerizing. Shadows and subtleties very effective. l/f
Paul Davenport replied:
Thank you Claudia :-)... sorry - didn't mean to give you a fright!... it's strange how adding the texture and colour can change the mood so much!
