All along the Royal Mile in Edinburgh Scotland, there are gated communities with these ancient looking iron gates. They are meant to keep tourists like me out of their front yard. I didn't invade their privacy, but I did take this shot of the rock walls, gate and slate flagstones to give people the same experience that I had when I first came upon this sight. Edinburgh is so magnificent and I feel very badly that I was unable to spend more time in this very historical and cosmopolitan city. Looking forward to spending more time here soon.
