Dutch Windmill In Iowa

Description
This Dutch windmill was built in Holland and shipped to Pella, Iowa, in 2002. Standing at over 125 ft, it is a fully functional icon in this predominantly Dutch settlement. Local restaurants use flour ground by the wind power it harnesses to make tasty breads and buns. Grain is brought in through double doors on the first floor of the windmill and raised through a series of trap doors to the millstones. This windmill has the distinction of being the tallest working Dutch windmill in the United States.
