Disney Epcot Japanese Koi Pond
Artist
Joan Minchak
Medium
Photograph - Photo Illustration
Description
Pond of Japanese koi or carp. Various carp species were originally from East Asia, where they were used as food fish. The ability of carp to survive and adapt allowed the domesticated species live in many new locations, including Japan. Carp were first bred for color mutations and led to the development of the goldfish. Capture taken at Epcot, Japanese Pavilion.
