Destiny is the seventh studio album by the American singer Gloria Estefan of the nineteen released over her career, released in 1996 on Sony Music/Epic Records after recovering from a serious injury in a tour bus crash in 1990. The first single released form the album “Reach” became a hit around the world and was the official theme of the 1996 Summer Olympics in at Atlantic City in the state of Georgia, USA. The album features mostly music that emphasizes tone and atmosphere over traditional structure or rhythm. A form of instrumental music that may lack net composition, beat, or structured melody. It features textural layers of sound that can reward passive and active listening. The album sold almost one million in the US and peaked at #23 on the US Billboard 200 while settling in at #116 for the year, 1996.
