In Recovery, we learn that we are imperfect human beings and that often, many parts of our lives have become selfish and out of control. It is only when we learn more and more about ourselves in Recovery, that aspects of our lives, which have been stumbling blocks to becoming the person we wish to become, begin to come to the forefront of our mind. When we listen to those who have “…been there, done that…” and who are actively learning to change their lives, that we become aware that character traits in our own lives need work.
It is ONLY when we are ready and willing to work on these Character Defects, that we can become a person that we LOVE. That love is then passed on to others in our circles of friends.
