Danescombe Paper Mill Ruins Cornwall
The atmospheric ruins of the abandoned Danescombe Valley paper mill near Calstock, Cornwall, SW England, UK). Operating from about 1788 until abandoned in 1857 when a larger mill was constructed. The mill made coarse brown paper, adhesive paste, and millboard which were used to pack and protect soft fruits during shipping. The mill was powered by an overshot waterwheel in a remote valley, a tributary of the River Tamar. Taken in October.
