Description
Dampiera altissima, commonly known as the tall dampiera, is an erect perennial herb in the family Goodeniaceae. The species, which is endemic to Western Australia north of Perth.
Dampiera belongs to the family Goodeniacea which is mainly herbs and low shrubs of 13 genera and about 390 species most of which are found in the Southern Hemisphere and most of which are confined to Australia.
Leaves are mostly alternative and simple. Flowers irregular, bisexual and 5 to numerous. The lobes may spread evenly as in Scaevola, but most are 2-lipped with the upper 2-lobed and the lover one 3-lobed as in Dampiera, Goodenia and Velleia.
