I do this for myself, yet I do it for all of you -- as I carry you with me when I travel and sketch. Whether I am standing as I wait for a water taxi, sitting on a train, a plane, or a bus -- I sketch. Sometimes I purchase a coffee--for the privilege of occupying the space I need, to rest, to reflect, and to draw what I see.

In this case, it was an antique Dala horse that caught my attention as we listened to story after story of the history of the horse and its people.
