Cupid's kiss of love is waking Psyche from her deadly sleep. When I saw this in the Louvre the sun was shining on Cupid and his wings and made them look like they were glowing. From this view Cupid's wings form the upper part of an X with his body and Psyche's body forming the lower part of the X. Also, Psyche's arms are circling Cupid's face.
