This rusty metal abstract was discovered at a restoration warehouse store in Highlands, North Carolina. It was a display of some old metal grating. I liked the rust and blue colors and cross patterns the stacked pieces formed.
Highlands is in the Western Carolina Mountains in the Blue Ridge Mountains which is part of the Appalachian Ridge. This warehouse where this image was taken was a perfect place to browse and explore. It was filled with old architectural objects taken from old houses, including doors, windows and fireplace mantels, as well as hundreds of hardware items.
I am an exhibiting artist in southwest Florida and my art has been exhibited in galleries in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina and is in collections nationwide. I create abstract photography, mixed media photo painting, acrylic mixed media, and acrylic paintings. Many would make great decorative throw pillows or shower curtains.
