Description
One of the most interesting hikes in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Asheville, North Carolina is at Craggy Gardens. As I gain elevation, the path meanders through rhododendrons and gnarly shaped tree trunks, with much covered in moss. There are a few delicate streams. Then suddenly, I'm at the top and the bald opens to gentle rises and incredible views. Layers of mountains abound, with old stone steps in unpredictable places. It's refreshing and exciting no matter what time of year.
