To create a powerful Image in this painting. I coupled the simplicity of the wild poppies with a background of geometric and organic shapes. Using the bright red of the flowers with the dark negative space creates a sharp contrast between the lighter and darker colors. The rectangular shapes with the irregular forms combined with the flowers gives the still life a contemporary flavor.
