Come On Number 3
Painting - Acrylic On Canvas
Come On #3!!!!
Acrylic on Canvas
What do you do with left over acrylic paint in your stay-wet palette…this…with a palette knife...FREE STYLE baby!!!
When I paint these types of horse racing paintings, there is an expression or feel of energy and speed! As I mentioned above these are created with a palette knife… I LOVE using a palette knife…takes me away from the realistic style of art I tend to do for my clients into a crazy slap of metal and paint across the canvas filled with color…yay clap clap clap!!!
I’ll tell you why I like to paint this jockey horse combination mostly focus on the jockey atop the majestic horse…
When my hubby and I moved here to Kentucky from New Orleans, we have never seen a horse race. A few years later we traveled to the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs with some friends and had a great time sipping mint juleps and looking at all those crazy hats. We were in the infield like the other poor people who just wanted to have some fun. The bugle call sounded for the race, so we tried to get as close to the track to see the race, and when the horses raced by…it lasted a second, a second, I tell you…so much for live horse racing…LOL! Yet, that second had a lasting influence on me as you see here in my art!
Thank you for looking and reading this…I sure do appreciate you taking the time…
