Violets and pansies are both flowers in the genus viola, and are sometimes difficult to tell apart. Violets have two petals pointing upwards and three downwards; pansies have four petals pointing upwards and one downwards. This colourful array of violets was photographed at the Botanical gardens in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
