Colorful Canola Field

Description
Canola, also known as Rapeseed, is a bright yellow flowering member of the Brassicaceae family. It is cultivated for its oil-rich see. It is the third largest source of vegetable oil.
On this day I drove the back roads of a small town, Blackstone, Virginia. I was surprised to see acres and acres of yellow canola fields, less than one hour outside of Richmond, Virginia. One has to respect farms and private property and now wander through the fields. I was able to pull over on a two lane road to capture this image. My plan was to go back the next year, but I learned that the farmers in Blackstone, alternate the year that they plant canola.

Wonderful softness to the Canola flowers, and they strike a nice color balance with the sky!
