This painting proves to me each painting has a life all it's own. I wonder if anyone knows where it is? Send a comment If you do. The lighthouse keeper has lived their most her life and is all alone their! Yes I said she! A tall weathered woman. Of course to get the buildings right I had help from a straight edge and drew them in first. I did not intend to paint it cold and snowy but being far north I got to imagining what it would be like at sunset in a new fallen heavy snow and this is where I was drawn to take it. If you have been to the North Eastern Coast you have seen this or other similar lighthouses but the distinction here is it is on its own little island and to get to the city is only by boat and mail and food must be delivered. You can go tour this Island in warmer months but the later fall and winter months are cold often windy with yes snow! Can you ladies imagine living here all alone?

Wonderful colour tones and shading - love that sky! I guess that by their very nature that lighthouses are lonely places, but at least there is the hint of civilisation in the distance here - or does that make it even lonelier...?

Now I want to see the light keeper weathered woman too... keep in in mind that to display in the Art 4 Billboards Group works are not merely panos but WIDE FORMAT criteria. We need 3:1 not 2:1... Your capture is coming in something like 20:10 in rathan than 30:10... We seek Billboard for the virtual internet highway as well as hopefully media buyers will discover.
