Description
Clear Day Until - Original Photography by Karol Livote
This was captured from my yard in Shelton, Connecticut. One August day, it was clear out until the sky started darkening. Within seconds this huge cloud started forming and came right over our home. The wind was intense and the cloud was spinning like a top, dropping out of the sky. Debris, as in leaves and stuff I could not identify at the time, was floating in the air. (I did photoshop the debris out of the image, since it was at a distance and you could not make it out.) Thankfully, as it crossed over the Housatonic River, it started to change and things started to wind down. I am not sure if it was a start of a tornado. It sure did feel and look like it. About 30-45 minutes later a tornado did in fact touch down about 40 miles away in that direction. It was dramatic, intense and scary. Those clear skies did come back after it passed.
