I don’t know how long it takes one to become an expert in predicting the weather in Cinque Terre, but however long it is, I have not visited for that long yet! There are many days where the rain chance is ‘high’ and you are indeed happy that you aren’t hiking up in the hills getting drenched for hours on end. But there are an equal number of days when the rain chance is ‘high’ and it ends up a beautiful day in whatever corner of Cinque Terre you are in. This was one such day, with only a brief shower thrown in to keep us paying attention. Given the forecast, we elected to do a couple of short hikes, this one on the coast between Vernazza and Corniglia. The curve of the rocky coastline and the big puffy clouds were irresistible. The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides are all part of the Cinque Terre National Park and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
