Ever have a recurring dream? Well this creation is from a dream I have had many times. My Nana came here from Italy in 1900 and arrived here with the most beautiful trunk. Anyone remember those old trunks that many came to the US with? Well, the trunk was in this long walk in closet. We lived above my grandparents for a while and there were two long closets on each side of the living room. You could walk into these closets but had to duck your head as the ceilings were slanted throughout it. In the back of the closet was my Nana's trunk. My sister and I would sneak into the closet as children to explore that wondrous treasure chest against the wall...and what could be in it. It would take both of us to open it and it seemed as though our Mom sometimes hid things in like gifts, etc...of course we were not supposed to be in the closet playing. LOL So later in my life, I have had dreams of this treasure chest being a secret passage, like a portal to somewhere special. Each dream allowed for floating peacefully in this portal that just never seemed to go anywhere. Hence, Childhood Dreams!

Childhood Dreams is a digital mixed media creation in that I paint a base in Procreate with an iPad and pen using various brushes. I then may add some composite elements through a digital editing app, then it often goes back to Procreate for finishing touches. I also use photoshop express and photoscape x for digital processing effects.
