Chicago Union Station Portico
Chicago In Photographs
Photograph - Fine Art Print
This is a photograph of the Union Station Portico facing Canal Street. Construction was started by the architect Daniel Burnham in 1913 and designed in the Beaux-Arts/Historism architectural style. The building would be completed in 1925 after Burnham's death. With 22 massive Roman-Doric columns at 39 ft in height, it offers some fantastic photographic opportunities in the mid-morning sun. This photograph was obviously taken at night and the spotlight/color caught my eye.
All proceeds will be donated to Chicago's Cornerstone Community Outreach in honor of photographer Richard Cleis, 1965-2021.
