Description
Chicago - Hope and Help
This statue by Edouard Chassaing [1895-1974] is named Hope and Help and depicts a physician giving aid to a man wracked with pain. Located in front of the International College of Surgeons Museum of Surgical History, this statue is considered one of Chassaing finest works. What caught my eye was the shadow details; the harsh light hitting the limestone dramatically accentuated the arms and abs of the patient as well as the nose and right cheek of the doctor. A perfect example of sculpting with light.
All proceeds will be donated to Chicago's Cornerstone Community Outreach in honor of photographer Richard Cleis, 1965-2021.
