Chatham Coast Guard Lighthouse And Boat

Photograph - Photography
The Chatham Lighthouse is located on the grounds of the Chatham US Coast Guard Station. The Chatham Light was established in 1808 and was a twin to the nearby Nauset Lighthouse. The Nauset Light was moved to Eastham in 1923. Chatham Light and Coast Guard Station are featured in the film “The Finest Hour.” The film chronicles the US Coast Guard’s rescue of the SS Pendleton in 1952 off the coast of Chatham. Tours are offered of the lighthouse during the tourist season. The Coast Guard Station and Lighthouse and on station lifesaving boat are on a cliff across from Lighthouse Beach in Chatham.
Although this is an oft photographed landmark, this image is an original photograph by Sharon Eng and has had some digital editing to clean it up a little. I am an exhibiting artist in southwest Florida (recently relocated from Hendersonville, North Carolina), and my art has been exhibited in galleries in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina and is in collections nationwide. I create abstract photography, mixed media photo painting, acrylic mixed media, and acrylic paintings. Many would make great decorative throw pillows or shower curtains. I've even had a couple abstracts made into my personal cell phone covers. Please check out my Facebook page Doodleng Art by Sharon Eng for announcements and more information about my art.
