Cautiously Crossing The Bridge Of Blue And Red Uncertainty

“Uncertainty” and “Unprecedented” have been 2 of the most frequently-used words in the English language throughout the year 2020 presidential election campaign in the United States of America. Although the campaign is now over with President-Elect Joseph R. Biden Jr. and Vice President-Elect Kamala D. Harris having been declared victors on Nov 7, 2020, the words remain powerful and relevant. It’s not hard to understand why. Polarizing issues surrounding racial inequality, the so-called wealth gap, and the killer beast known as the COVID-19 pandemic have caused increasingly deeper social divisions in the U.S.
The colors, shadows, and long stretch of polychromatic path depicted in “Cautiously Crossing the Bridge of Blue and Red Uncertainty” give some clue to the work which lies ahead. In the upper half of the canvas with an expanse of shade between them is the determined “Blue” of Democrats and the challenged #Red” of Republicans. Beneath them the yellow, orange, black, brown, green, more red, and more blue bridge of multicultural demographics which is America.
Now that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have won their bid for the highest office in the land, they have to deliver on their promise to place the country on a path of healing and unification. The fact that one is a man and one a woman, one white and one black, give reason to believe that with the help of an engaged citizenry they really can pull it off.
