Description
This spiral staircase is the way the lighthouse keeper would climb the 97 steps to the light at the top of the Cana Island Lighthouse. Imagine the lighthouse keeper’s job as he trudged up and down the steps each night, carrying heated lard to keep the light burning! In 2019 the lighthouse celebrated its 150th anniversary. Captured here in black and white it resembles the Fibonacci effect.
