Can You See Me?
Artist
Jeff Burgess
Medium

Description
I took a kind of random picture of a wall in the downtown area of Seattle. To the left were buildings and a street, along with the girl. Then, when I brought it up on my computer I noticed something really strange on the wall. Can you see it? So I took out the city and turned the image into a black and white/gray work which makes me cringe when I look at it. Enjoy!

I love these surprise images that come alive when we view our captures on a computer screen seeing things we never saw in the camera! Nice work simplifying the background to emphasize the rest of the image Jeff.

I just love your portfolio-could comment on each one! I see so much in this random wall-children in the game circle singing " ring around the rosie", people on bikes, an astronaut, baseball player...I could go on and on! The girl is an added bonus! jean
Jeff Burgess replied:
Thanks for looking deeply and commenting Jean. Yes, I also saw the children playing, and the bike people....but did not 'see' the astronaut or baseball player. Guess I'll have to look again. Again, thanks.
Jeff Burgess replied:
Oh, I initially saw a sad face (two eyes, nose, and mouth turned down at the corners.
Jeff Burgess replied:
Oh, and I had a wonderful artist friend (his works are in collections around the country and in the Hawaii Museum of Art) tell me that he saw faces in everything he looked at. And this was his creative genius.
