In 1949 Crandon Park Zoo was established near Key Biscayne. It was hit by several large hurricanes in the sixties and it was decided that the zoo had to move. In 1981 the animals where all moved to The Miami Metro Zoo. All that is lest of the Crandon Park Zoo are a few cages and a merry-go-round.
