Arizona is the home of the saguaro cactus. They stand like silent and ancient sentinels over the hot and dry desert. They are one of the defining plants of the Sonoran desert. They bloom at night in the Spring and bear a fruit in June. During the infrequent rains they can absorb water until they swell and then use it during the hot summer. When the clouds are present at sunset a beautiful vista of Cactus Glow appears.
