Description
A brown-belted bumble bee was feeding on the pickerelweed flowers in Tampa, Florida's Lettuce Lake Park.
The brown-belted bumble bee (bombus griseocollis) can be found in southeastern Canada, and most of the United States except the southwest.
It can be confused with the two-spotted bumble bee and the rusty patched bumble bee.
It's favorite flowers are milkweeds, thistles, sunflowers, goldenrods, sumacs and loosestrifes.
