The lighthouse on Brant Point, Nantucket has an interesting history. The original lighthouse was the second one established in colonial America in 1746; however, this is lighthouse is the ninth one built on Brant Point. Each of the other eight lighthouses were either destroyed by fires or storms. The current lighthouse was built in 1901.
