Description
The Boyce Motometer was patented in 1912 and was used to gauge the temperature of the radiator. At various times, they were used both as standard equipment offered with the purchase of an automobile, and they were also sold as an aftermarket product. The Motometer was patented as early as 1917, reached their peak selling years in 1920, but became obsolete in 1930 when dash mounted gauges were invented. Now they are used solely as an attraction on restored cars or classic cars. Two versions of the Boyce Motometer exist and I hope to post the other version soon.
The artist, Mary Deal, is also an award-winning author of mystery/thrillers, a short story collection, writers' reference books and a self-help nonfiction. Read about it here:
