Bodie Light And Galactic Core 4994
Photograph - Photograph
The core of our galaxy, the Milky Way, rises pre-dawn in early February behind Bodie Island Lighthouse in Nags Head on North Carolina's Outer Banks. A meteor streaked through the sky to the left of the tower. The bluish lights on the left side of the lighthouse are on ocean-bound fishing boats departing Oregon Inlet. The redish lights on the right are from the Bonner Bridge replacement construction. Red lights from exit signs leak from the wndows at the base of the lighthouse.
