A panoramic of a great blue heron taking flight over a swamp in southern Louisiana, USA.
This was taken in 2018 on the way home from New Orleans. We did a swamp tour just outside of the city on a blistering hot day. It was over 40 degrees Celsius, and of course given the nature of the tour, the boat had no shade. If it had a roof, we wouldn't have been able to see as much. Still, it was worth it for the scenery. We saw birds such as this one, alligators, turtles, lots of trees and plant life, etc. Thankfully, we remembered our sunscreen!
