Image taken from The Cleveland Botanical Garden Glasshouse. Exhibits of
two continents are located here. Named, the Eleanor Armstrong Smith Glasshouse, it is a beautiful photographic adventure. The Glasshouse offers a year-round escape to the Desert of Madagascar and the butterfly-filled Rainforest of Costa Rica. The Glasshouse features strange and unusual plants.

You are surrounded by two worldly landscapes featuring 350 species of exotic plants. 50 different types of butterflies, birds, reptiles and amphibians surround the naturalistic habitats. The Glasshouse show how plants, animals, geology and climate interact in delicate balance.

The Glasshouse opened at the Botanical in July, 2003. A computer controlled climate system moderates the temperature and humidity. The fog system uses purified water. There are 3,400 pieces of glass in the Glasshouse. 738,000 pounds of steel make up the structure.They use 20 tons of soil. There are daily chameleon feedings and butterfly releases for the visitors.

Cleveland Botanical Garden is located in University Circle, minutes from downtown Cleveland. It is easily accessible from most major highways. It is located near the Cleveland Museum of Art and Cleveland Museum of Natural History. The Garden is three miles south of I-90 using the Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard exit.
