Our memories of the beach will linger on long after our footprints in the sand are gone - author unknown.
This is the fourth canvas section of a pentaptych (a five-canvas painting). The original painting is a watercolor (also for sale in this gallery). I took separate photos of five different sections of the original painting in order to offer large canvas prints.
With milkweed pod open and seeds dispersing in the evening breeze among the fragile grasses of the dunes, the distant sunset on this lonely stretch of sandy beach of Lake Huron's shoreline beckons us to look beyond the sand. Yellow hues around the sun change to pink, purple and blue the further the distance from the sun.
