Title
Ballard In Seattle
Artist
Jeff Burgess
Medium
Photograph - Giclee Print
Description
This wall ran along some railway tracks in a part of Seattle that has some industrial mixed in with residential.....a very wild mix. It has since been torn down, but the image haunted me for a long time.......Its symbolism is much greater than its reality....Backstory: This work was created over 15 years ago and it didn't seem so timely as now with the threat of camps to house immigrants and USA citizens by the fascist regime presently in power.

I understand why this haunted you, Jeff. It is unsettling, indeed, especially with today's events. Great photo. f

Feels like the fencing you find in enclosed closely guarded places, Striking perspective and contrast…another super awesome work, Jeff. :)C
Jeff Burgess replied:
Thanks Coleen. I was happy to get it because between 2010 and 2020 it was torn down and replaced with high tech businesses. And so it goes, the unhappy way (sometimes) of progress.

Fantastic image Jeff!! Reminds me of the prison I worked in.
Jeff Burgess replied:
I just happened to be riding my bike along a route that took me to this area. But I had no idea I had such a great capture of this most interesting and colorful wall with the symbolism of the barbed wire and the coke can stuck in the chain link fence. Shot with a wide angle lense and Cannon full frame camera.
