Driving along the road going to the Carlsbad Caverns Visitor Center travelers can often see aoudads along the rocky landscape. It is rare seeing the new life of baby aoudads. On this day the mom and her four babies paused without fear while we stopped to admire them and photograph them.
While native to Northern Africa, aoudads are not native to the U.S. They were introduced around the 1950s into Texas, New Mexico, and California.
