This is a close up, selective focus, of a vintage newel post of the art deco staircase and bannister at the Lakefront Airport in New Orleans. The fabulous interior of the airport was restored after its damage by the flood waters that inundated it during Hurricane Katrina. The interior is a masterpiece of art deco design.
