Another World Vii In The Shallows II
Sharon Williams Eng
Painting - Acrylic Painting
This is another version of my previous acrylic seascape of the same title. I decided to crop out the clouds in the original. This represents an underwater coral reef as I imagine it with sailboats bringing eager divers and snorklers to explore the underwater world. I'm not a diver, but I've seen many pictures of the beautiful, colorful coral and fish that inhabit these living reefs. Closest to home for me is John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park off the east coast of Florida at Key Largo. Another famous ocean reef is the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.
The Great Barrier Reef, off the coast of Queensland in northeastern Australia, is the largest living thing on Earth, and even visible from outer space. The 2,300km-long ecosystem comprises thousands of reefs and hundreds of islands made of over 600 types of hard and soft coral. It's home to countless species of colourful fish, molluscs and starfish, plus turtles, dolphins and sharks. The Great Barrier Reef is reported to be greater in size than the United Kingdom, Holland and Switzerland combined.
John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park is a Florida State Park located on Key Largo in Florida, and includes approximately 70 nautical square miles of adjacent Atlantic Ocean waters. It was the first underwater park in the United States. The park was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 14, 1972.
This image is a digital photo painting created from one of my other Another World mixed media paintings.
I am an exhibiting artist in southwest Florida and my art has been exhibited in galleries in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina and is in collections nationwide. I create abstract photography, mixed media photo painting, acrylic mixed media, and acrylic paintings. Many would make great decorative throw pillows or shower curtains. I've even had a couple abstracts made into my personal cell phone covers. Please check out my Facebook page Doodleng Art by Sharon Eng for announcements and more inf
