Description
Barred owls are a common owl found in the Midwest and in the United States. Although they are common they are not easy to photograph. Owls are predominately nocturnal so capturing them in a picture is not easy. This owl was resting on a fence post along a country road in Kansas. I came upon it while I was out driving at sunset. I was very lucky to have the opportunity to spend some time with this beautiful animal.
Pamela Peters is a landscape and wildlife photographer. Most of her work is done between the states of Kansas and Tennessee, where she works as a professor at Lane College. When she is not in the classroom Peters can be found outdoors capturing moments in the wilderness.
