Description
"Amplitude" was one of only 67 pieces to be selected out of over 2,000 artworks and from 640 artists to be displayed at Artspace111 for the Texas Juried Exhibition 2020.
A treasure map of intricate details. Intensely detailed, this reads like a cartographical map, detailing the geology and topography of some mystical landscape. The more you look, the more you see. The details draw you in and have almost a hypnotic effect. As you look closer, you see the connecting paths between objects, crisscrossing at the center.
Coleman Schoessow draws abstract, steam-of-consciousness art by hand. Drawing in his unusual, intricate, non-objective style is his version of meditation. His work is drawn intuitively, and is highly detailed with interesting design elements that allow for viewer interpretation. This piece was drawn with black ink on illustration board.
