AMERICA 95 glides through Pacific Ocean waters five miles off Point Loma, California. This storied schooner echoes the original 1851 schooner built by the William H. Brown boatyard (NYC) to demonstrate America's advanced shipbuilding innovations to Great Britain and all of Europe in a race around the Isle of Wight. AMERICA won the Hundred Guinea Cup, and the Cup came to be known as what we know today as the America's Cup.
AMERICA 95 is 139 feet in length, carries 5,900 square feet of sail and weighs 226,000 pounds. Her main mast is 105 feet tall.
