Title
Alster Arcades Of Hamburg
Artist
Carol Japp
Medium

Description
The stylish Alster Arcades (Alsterarkaden), reminiscent of Venice, were built in the mid 19th century after the devastating Hamburg great fire of 1842. Overlooking a charming canal often filled with swans, and with a view to Rathausmarkt square and the City Hall, these lovely arches which lead to an upmarket shopping area, provide the ideal spot to sit outdside (but with cover if the weather isn't great) and enjoy a beverage or a meal whilst taking in the surroundings of this northern German city. I hand blended a little texture with my original photograph to compliment the old world feel of this classic Hamburg city scene.
