On an early April day, I was driving west of Albuquerque on I40 near the continental divide. That time of year, it is still winter in the mountains and it started snowing. There were some red rock bluffs along the interstate that looked beautiful in the snow and beckoned for a photo. Of course, there was no place to pull off on an interstate except one of the exits. By the time the next exit came along, there were no good vantage points for a photo. But I did find myself on a portion of old Route 66 where there were these abandoned buildings. I’m sure there are many great stories behind these buildings!
