Description
Paris-Charles de Gaulle International Airport (IATA: CDG, ICAO: LFPG), also known as Roissy Airport (French: AĆ©roport de Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle) is an airport located in the Paris metropolitan area, France designed and developed by the French architect Paul Andreu, it is the main airport of the French nation and is one of the most important aviation hubs in the world. Its name is due to the general and former president of France, Charles de Gaulle (1890-1970). It is located near Roissy, 25 km northeast of Paris. The construction of this terminal lasted almost 10 years, being inaugurated on March 8, 1974. Years later, and due to the large influx of flights, the terminal was built, also by Paul Andreu, and inaugurated in 2003. The airport serves as the main hub of the airline Air France. (Wikipedia)
